Résumé : Cet articles’appuie sur une recherche doctorale qui examine les processus d’apprentissage et de (trans)formation de la conscience politique de personnes militantes citoyennes de l’État d’Israël, à partir d’un corpus d’entretiens biographiques. Il s’appuie sur la notion d’empowerment telle qu’elle est développée dans les travaux des féministes états-uniennes Patricia Hill Collins et bell hooks. Dans ce texte, nous nous intéressons à une éducatrice palestinienne. D’une part, l’entretien met en exergue l’importance du processus de conscientisation des rapports de pouvoir qui travaillent l’ensemble du champ social, notamment l’institution scolaire, pour gagner en pouvoir d’agir. D’autre part, en mobilisant les épistémologies féministes, nous montrerons ce qui se joue dans la situation de ces entretiens en termes de pouvoir d’agir à la fois pour la personne sollicitée et la personne qui mène l’entretien, les échanges se déroulant dans la langue dominante.

Power Relations and Agency in Biographical Interview
Abstract : This article is based on a doctoral research - and biographical interviews - that examines the learning and (trans)formation processes of political consciousness of political activists citizens of the State of Israel. It focuses on the term « empowerment » in the way it is developed by the feminist scholars Patricia Hill Collins and bell hooks. The text concentrates on a Palestinian educator. On one hand, the interview highlights the empowering effect when understanding the power dynamics that influence all social arenas, in particular schooling systems. On the other hand, from the standpoint of feminist epistemologies, the article seeks to question the power dynamics in the interview - in particular as the interview takes place in Hebrew, the dominant language - both for the interlocutor as for who leads the interview.
